Sabrina

Many readers can relate to the sadness of losing a beloved pet. I lost my Sabrina recently. She was a perfect mix of German shepherd, black lab, and pit bull. She was beautiful – slick shiny black hair and happy brown eyes.

What is amazing to me is how much that I learned from her while she was with me. Sabrina taught me that, to have a good bond, it’s not necessary to be all up in each other’s business at all times. She was loving, but independent – a type of confidence that we all must cultivate.

Sow wild oats early on, don’t wait. It’s best to be a bit crazy when you are youthful. Jumping fences and going after what you want is much safer and easier then, for many reasons.

Give of yourself and your love unconditionally, don’t hold peoples’ numerous failings against them. What’s the point? Do this for your own joy, not necessarily anyone else’s.

When it’s time to sleep, take up only your fair share of space, but stay close to your loved one.

At least try all of the food anyone offers you. Even if’s green.

Just be yourself. And delight in it. Play hard and walk as often and as long as you can. Nap after.

Lastly, it’s not about what we accomplish while we are here, it’s about just being with one another throughout life. Just be with your people offering support through your loyal presence.
