Couples Counseling

Are You Worried About the Future of Your Relationship?

Do you miss the closeness and fun that you and your partner once had?

Do you feel alone and unappreciated?

Are you tired of having the same argument over and over?
Are you worried that your relationship will end, or that it will always be unhappy?
Do you wish you and your partner could renew your connection?

Most Couples Have Struggles With Conflict at one time or another…

Few of us have had the opportunity to learn how to cultivate a loving relationship. We don’t always know how to be open and honest. And, it can be challenging to establish both healthy boundaries and healthy closeness.

Relationship issues are nothing to be ashamed of. They are very common—you and your partner are far from alone.

As human beings, we are wired for connection with one another. We find strength in feeling seen, heard and valued. And we find joy in giving that same care to someone else.

Your relationship can become a safe haven that provides the support you need to deal with life.

An experienced relationship therapist can help you move forward together as a couple.

Couples Therapy Can Help You Build a Trusting and Close Relationship

Whether you’ve been together for months or decades, your relationship matters. I’m committed to helping you find your way back to one another. Therapy provides an opportunity to slow conflict down, process your own feelings, and tune into your partner’s feelings. With objective guidance, you and your partner can express your feelings, wants and needs without escalating into a fight. You can start to actually communicate with one another.

I offer:

  • A supportive, confidential space
  • Nonjudgmental warmth and compassion
  • Training and expertise in relationships
  • Practical tools to build communication skills

Couples counseling can help you and your partner address:

  • Repetitive arguments (conflict around careers, in-laws, parenting, finances, etc.)
  • Patterns of shutting down and/or lashing out
  • Old, unresolved hurts
  • Broken trust and crossed boundaries
  • Feelings of loneliness and rejection

Couples counseling can help you and your partner:

  • Build trust
  • Learn how to be honest with your partner
  • Understand and accept your partner’s point of view
  • Recognize each partner’s role in the relationship problems
  • Work together as a team

No matter what you and your partner are struggling with, change is possible.

What if my partner won’t come with me to therapy?

You can’t force your partner to come to therapy. You only have control over yourself.

While it’s best to have both partners in sessions, you can shift the relationship on your own.

Therapy can help you recognize negative patterns and make positive changes in your own behavior. Your relationship is likely to grow in response.
