Answers to Our Most-Asked EZ Texting Customer Questions
At EZ Texting we want to make it as easy as possible to succeed at sending your text campaigns. Here are simple answers to the most-asked EZ Texting Customer Questions.
1. I sent myself a text message, but I haven't received it yet. What's going on?
Sometimes you won’t receive a message because you’ve opted out of receiving texts on that number before. To check if you’re opted out, text the word “HELP” to your short code number. If you receive back a message saying to call us, you’re not blocked, and you should try again. If you don’t receive a message back or receive a message saying, “Service Access Denied,” you'll need to call your phone carrier and ask to remove a “short code block” on your account.
2. The system is not accepting my contact list. Why is that?
First check what format your customers list is in. EZ Texting accepts XLS, XLSX and CSV files. Each row should represent a single contact. It's best to place your phone numbers in the first column followed by fields like first name, last name, email, and note. Only phone number is required. As long as you have the information formatted correctly, you should be good to go!
3. Can I send out a message longer than 160 characters?
You can as long as you’re on the Pay & Go plan or any paid monthly plan. On these plans, longer messages are converted to MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) messages. MMS allows you to use up to 1,600 characters per text, and also to include a picture directly in the text, and at no extra cost.
4. What is a Keyword?
Keywords help you grow your list of opted-in contacts via text. You’ve probably seen examples of Keywords out in the world – like a sign that read, “Text JOIN to 858585 to get text updates and coupons.” In this example JOIN is the Keyword and 858585 is the short code.
Anyone that texts your Keyword to your short code will be automatically be added to your contact list. They will also immediately receive an auto reply which you can edit, tailored to suit your organization. Curious about tailoring that custom response to include a fully automatic marketing campaign? Call or chat for more info!
5. Can I pick the short code/phone number that messages come from?
Unfortunately, you cannot pick the short code from which your messages come as our system utilizes a common-use short code to send out texts. You do have the option to rent one of our ten-digit numbers, but texts can only be sent to one contact at a time. If using the short code to send group texts, however, we always recommend you put your business/organization’s name in the subject line so that it comes up at the top of the text and in (parenthesis), like a header.
